Do you offer all the same services as banks?
Yes, FreeStar Financial Credit Union provides a full-service banking experience with savings and checking accounts, loans, credit cards, and a wide array of other financial services. We're federally insured by NCUA, which protects your money up to $250,000, similar to the FDIC in a traditional bank.
How do I join FreeStar Financial?
Joining is easy! Open a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5.00. Visit our Join page to get started.
Who is eligible to become a member?
Membership at FreeStar Financial Credit Union is open to those who live, work, worship, or attend school in the state of Michigan, as well as their immediate family members. We also serve select employer groups and associations.
Is there a cost to join?
No, there are no membership fees. However, a $5.00 opening deposit is required for your savings account, which represents your share of the credit union. This amount must remain in your account for the duration of your membership.
